  Born in a small town in rural western Pennsylvania, Don is the youngest of seven children.  He attended Somerset County Public Schools where he was active in academics, athletics, and student government.  Don then attended Elizabethtown College where he received his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Advertising.  After college, he went to work as a Management Trainee for the JCPenney Company in Alexandria, Virginia.  He worked in various positions such as Department Manager, General Merchandise Manager, District Merchandise Manager, and Store Manager.  He was employed for sixteen years at JCPenney before moving to the Pohanka Automotive Group in 1988. He has been a Sales Consultant, Finance Manager, Sales Manager, and is currently a General Manager for the Pohanka Automotive Group.  He spent ten years of his career with Pohanka with Hyundai, and was the General Manager for Saturn of Waldorf for eleven years.   

                A citizen of Charles County for almost twenty-five years, Don has been active in Waldorf Soccer, Waldorf Little League, Thomas Stone Band Boosters, and the Charles County Chamber of Commerce. Outside of Charles County, Don has been a member of the City of Alexandria Parking Task Force, the City of Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the National Automotive Dealer Association, and various auto manufacturer advertising committees.

                Don currently lives in the Wakefield Community with his wife Judy.  They have been married for thirty years and have two children, Monica and Aaron.  Both of his children are graduates of Thomas Stone High School.  Monica is a Language Arts teacher at Milton Somers Middle School in LaPlata, and Aaron is a manager with the Sheetz Corporation in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Don and Judy also became grandparents this June to Adalynn Mae. 

                Don enjoys watching all types of athletic, and is a faithful Southern Maryland Blue Crabs supporter having been a season ticket holder since their inception.  He also likes to read 19th century American history and enjoys traveling.  Don attends the First Baptist Church of Waldorf.
